I've noticed this pattern in a number of highly shorted stocks. If it were true the shorters were picking off overvalued stock I would expect the number of shorts be reduced as the stock price goes down.
To me it looks like the shorters are forcing the price down by tactically dumping shares.
But remember the shorters now need to buy back more than 63,000,000 shares, and I'm not selling them any of mine.
