When I was young Dad's guns were behind the laundry door with Mum's brooms,if one of the kids wanted to go and shoot some rabbits for dog feed they just grabbed one and went. Guns were no different to any other tool like shovels axes etc.you were taught gun safety just like you were taught to use an axe safely. (I did cut my foot with an axe) Considering my background I always found it hard to understand the anti gun hysteria.
