    Lappy ,
It was common practice to add an extra 1 litre
of engine oil or 200 ml of coolant to each bill, or
charge for incidentals that weren’t used.
Adding an extra hour of labour was not
    uncommon on large services.
We used to sublet electrical work to a local
auto electrician and put 40% on top of his bill.
The list of erroneous charges was outrageous.

In my most recent employment, I have since
finished there, we were selling and fitting
    4wd accessories.
I used to see my boss regularly charge for items
that were quoted but not needed in the fit out.
It is always in the customer’s interest to try and
be informed and question what is being done.

I recently bought a new vehicle and was quoted
$695 for window tint. I took it to a local
guy that I have known for years and he charged
    me $325.
