Nice guess - I initially thought there would be a company to acquire Liontown based on the fact only when they have the production and stabilize the income (hence maybe between June/Dec 2024.) OR way earlier so they can offer something cheap to buy Liontown (It looks like ALB had tried a couple of times).
I am not sure about competing bids at this point, the offering for a non-production of 6.6 billion is huge, I'm not sure who's really keen on paying so much before production apart from ALB (or unless either RIO/FMG/BHP is going to step into this field).
The only reason that I can see the board recommends shareholders to vote yes is mainly because, before production, there might be some significant capital required that they consider as a risk. However, I do believe the estimated value of LTR at $3-$3.50 at this point is a fair price, but after production, this will definitely double or even more, I presumed that's the reason why ALB really keen on getting it (they see the true value).
Again, everything I mentioned above was all guessing. Don't quote me on this, please
