Maybe it's law suit time!
If politicians are trying to gain poitical advanatge by deliberatley spreading false information about a company than that may well be an actionable matter.
If they've previously approved the drilling for gas then they have no business spreading fear about an oil drill.
Threats of a law suit may lead to hasty retractions and apologies by all parties - MP's to Editors!
