Just back from Malaysia, I haven’t spent much time there but I like Malacca and the people that I’ve interacted with have been great.

It provides a good balance between east/west culture and language difficulties aren’t as big an issue as some of the more exotic alternatives.
It is quite a bit cheaper than Singapore.and Malacca is only a shortish drive away from there, anyway.

However, on my last evening there while having a feed & last drinks with my friends who live there.

The conversation drifted into their local politics situation as they are in the lead up to elections.

It seems as if the Muslim majority Party has been pulling out all the stops in an effort to win the election.

Apparently they have pulled out the Big Gun, suggesting that any fellow Muslim that doesn’t vote for them will be denied entry into Paradise and considered an Infidel.

The Indian/Chinese Malays I was with suggested that they were considering implementing all those wonderful Islamic traditions, like banning Booze.

It might be advisable to have a Deko at what the political situation looks like over there as I know what my friends said and that may/may not be 100% correct.
