I can agree with you that this isn’t the forum for discussing political issues. BUT imo the BHP Board is not elected to make political donations as it has now done.
Having gone to small rural schools with aboriginal children in quite dire circumstances around 75 years ago I’ve done a lot of research about their current circumstances, and I’m now convinced that constitutionally enshrining the Voice proposal will inevitably permanently divide our most successful multicultural society on Earth.
There are many thousands of highly paid public servants operating in indigenous ‘advisory’ and consultative bodies throughout the country and controlling the welfare billions being spent annually. Adding more ’advisory’ public servants in Canberra won’t help in the slightest, only far greater accountability for results, that is never done, can possibly really help.
I have good friends in New Zealand, and we’d be mad to following their model…
