I think that the board have to do a lot of answering. They have cheered this on at every point, kept appointing him, and kept giving him significant bonuses. They must have been aware of these issues at every point. This is a duty of Directors. They are all paid well, they meet frequently and have the right to reporting on the operations of the business. The shareholders and media need to ask a lot of questions. I also believe politicians need to answer as to why they accept Chairman membership, and should be excluded as they are voting on items such as allowing Qatar into Australia. That move would protect the politicians and for Qantas. Perception is reality.
