Nice story. San Salvador does have modern shopping and a lot of US$ have been invested there.

However, from what my ex told me, if you have money, be careful. She will be going back there for a visit this month to see relatives and sell up.

She was raised in a well to do family with servants but migrated when on 2 occasions she and her son had guns pointed at them in their car. She told me most houses are well locked up as there are many gangs of desperate thieves around.

Perhaps it has improved so it will be interesting to hear her report when she returns to Australia.
