This appears to be a very misleading announcement, and suggests LIN don’t have a good grasp of the fundamentals.
What ANSTO have said is it is not a “Class 7”radioactive product, meaning it’s less than 10Becquerels/gram (Bq/gm) radioactivity and so is not classified as “Dangerous Goods” for transport. That doesn’t mean it’s not radioactive.
Lynas concentrate is also below 10 Bq/gm, but as we know from the Malaysian Govt, its still radioactive.
