GLN is already comitting, I think, about $20m of its existing cash as project equity, plus permitting is in place and construction is already underway, all if which will be attractive to debt providers. My guess is that they will be out there looking for about a $40m debt packsge. If so, could GLN land a $30-40 pre-payment deal?
Glencore recently wrote a $400m pre-payment cheque to Eramet (admitedly a much better credit-risk) in Argentina on a 20k tpa project. I have no idea what the market and spare plant capacity is for lithium chloride in country, but presumably they wouldn’t have gone down this route without first sounding out potential off-takers.
