Overseas markets generally in positive territory overnight - fairly flat though.
In Europe, FTSE up 36 points, DAX closed higher by 21 points and the CAC was up 44 points.
UK home insurance is up 27% for the year.
In the US, the DOW closed higher by 75 points, The NASDAQ Biotech Index closed higher by 15 points, The NASDAQ Composite rose a modest 12 points (Apple still a drag on the Tech scene) and the Russell small cap index fell 4 points.
US weekly jobless figures came in stronger than market expectations (216k) which increased the chances of another US rate hike in November.
Slowing Chinese economy is a major concern for markets.
Interesting data out from China showing that the population is aging. 50% of te population is now over 60 and there is slowing in the fertility rate.
