Technically, yes. I understand the Governor General has not yet issued the formal writ. Anything could still happen.
Imagine the political fallout if it were to be cancelled. Albo could cite some vague psychologist's report, demonstrating this referendum is getting all too much for Yes sympathisers; that racism on social media is getting out of hand; or claims that he has been advised by Intelligence of foreign interference in the referendum from rogue 'state actors'; or his very good, longtime, nearest and dearest personal friend 'Whispering' Jack Farnham has withdrawn consent to use The Voice in the Yes campaign.
The GG acting on the advice of the PM would be this century's answer to The Dismissal.
