It is true, Australia is a country of immigrants just as every country is.

Humanity has been moving around from the beginning of time looking for a better place, more resources, better land, more opportunities, freedom from oppression, persecution and such.

I was here first, means diddly in the scheme of things as there was always someone before who those people pushed out/dominated.

But getting back to today and the question of “immigration”.

Immugration is a fact of life, I don’t have an issue with bringing people into our country because there certainly are benefits to our country/society we also have some obligations to help others that necessitate us to take in refugees.
So the idea of no immigration is ludicrous.

However there is a balance and there is a point where the numbers can switch the positive benefits to negative benefits for the country.

There is also the opportunity for political and monetary advantage from increasing the numbers and I believe that JC’s post has some validity.

I’m also of the opinion that our current political master’s are overstepping the boundaries of beneficial immigration and their actions are not in the best interests of the country and its citizens.

There is a balance and it’s important that we all understand that the question of immigration is not a yes/no question.
