Ok, just roughly summarising what CHM's CEO JC over and over stressed out in her CHM videos:

There are hundreds or even thousands of unis and state owned / private institutes were cells get edited for medical reasons. But that's in their "tiny" labs, done just for their in house R&D.

In the US alone many are trying to get their CAR-Ts approved, so far only 6 got it and only 4 are currently used. One big problem, cell editing and big scale manufacturing. CHM had huge problems in the past to secure theirs for their upcoming CD17 CAR-T, ALA developed a new vector / edited cell and needs a facility to produce it.

The Azer-Cel tech and the facility was actually meant to benefit CHM and ALA but due to both not having the financial capabilities IMU took it on and due to the versatility of CF33 it makes even sense for IMU itself. Jennifer Chow is the woman behind that deal and as LC confirmed, both get along very well. I would assume that JC has been put in charge behind the scenes to free up LC for B-cell and CF33.

2 years ago Hopper would probably IPOed this one but under current circumstances IMU now goes along this pathway too. Whether at some stage CHM or even ALA get integrated into IMU due to the synergies needs to be seen. RAD is too different at this stage but if a modern bio-tech needs to have its footprint in imaging and radio therapy then this could be " taken home " too.

Maybe it is a little bit too early, but " Too small, most liekly to fail " may soon turn into " Too big too be ignored ".
