So MUFJ have been buying WBT shares on market, but also borrowing shares. The only reason I know to borrow shares is to either look how beautiful they are or sell them (i.e. short).
In a vacuum, If everyone just bought shares as they become aware of .WBT, the share price would float higher. By applying some shorting pressure, the WBT SP has a kind of gravity to stop it going to the moon. Just my financial pseudoscience.
So is MUFJ are buyer and a shorter? The purpose of the shorting is to ensure they can acquire shares at a good price. Anyone know how I should interpret this?
