I didn't think you were anti renewables, I support a transition that is realistic to supply Australians future energy needs. The problem is that building infrastructure & energy generation takes time, we can't leave it another decade before doing it. The world is moving on with or without Australian.
Just on one simple point. If Australia doesn't move away from FF where will it get it's petrol /diesel & IC vehicles from? Do people really want to pay double for their fuel & drive around in used cars that constantly need repairing & you can't get parts for at reasonable prices? There are already car manufacturers who are no longer going to produce FF cars or have deadlines to stop producing them. I'd dare say none of the major car manufacturers are actively investing in future FF models for 10 years time.
So yes we need technology that works & yes we need a reliable supply of power but we also need to get moving because in the end the cost of not doing so will add up to be more. Australia is also not alone in transitioning to renewables, we can learn a lot from overseas if we are willing to.
