I too am with IG Markets. I think they have improved over time (I've been with them since 07). Everything Crystal has said I agree with - however I have noticed some improvements during the last 6-12 months.
When FX trading - on occasions the trade isn't achieved if the price moves a little - which can be frustrating.

I think IG is a great place to start as they offer GSL (never ever ever trade CFD's without using these), low entry point, low (or no fees for frequent traders), variety of trading opportunities.

A good place to start!
