The moderates want uranium to become one of the metals and minerals classified by the EU as critical raw materials, write MEPs Tomas Tobé and Jessica Polfjärd on SvD Debatt.Such a proposal is to be decided in the European Parliament's chamber this week, and M politicians think there are good reasons for it to be voted through.Uranium must be secured for countries that want to invest in nuclear power, including Sweden, the debaters believe."It is high time to ensure the availability of fuel in the event of a broad expansion of nuclear power in the EU."At the same time, they point out that it should be up to each member state to decide whether uranium mining should be allowed.
