Yes, even looking at the 12 month high and low and comparing it with something like BHP, it's not out of the ordinary and it all seems to be within tolerances for a successful investment. Just don't buy near the top of the range, and don't sell at a loss, that's all I aim to do. Also, don't sell at all while the dividend yield is so high. My average price under $16 means the yield is very healthy, and I am prepared to let my average drift a bit higher if I can top up under $19.
The recommendation I had when I got into FMG a few years ago was that it had a long history of people predicting its demise, warning us off the stock. Many of those who ignored the warnings did very well indeed. I read a comment here from an investor who ignored dire warnings of going broke and bought FMG for $6. I'm pretty happy with my sub $16, but yeah, $6 would have been so much sweeter.
