CarT treatment has been used in Peter Macallum hospital (Melb) for about two years now. I believe that at least 200 patients have been treated. Not sure of the exact sucess rate but it is well over 50%.
Yes, cells are extracted and sent to the USA for treatment, and it is covered by the PBS.
