the shorters are making the bet that the Board and management won't be able to get the deals done in a timely fashion. on one hand it looks like a crazy bet, with news due to drop at any time why would you short this stock? but on the other hand they have had a memorandum of understanding with GE that hasn't progressed, and the issue that until they can wrap up the binding off take deals the finance is basically at a standstill. In the annual report today I see the chairman has commented that he hopes that FID will be ready by end of financial year, it doesn't fill me with a lot of hope that it will be done by the end of 2024 to be honest. I would like to see management focus solely on getting the final offtakes finalised in the next month before the shorters push the share price down the toilet.
