The carbonate plant is not going to produce anything else than carbonate. The plan is NAL = carbonate, Moblan = hydroxide (at Amos). It is much easier and less tricky to produce carbonate, so that's going to be the path forward.

And unfortunately, Sayona does need to get sign off approval from PLL to start on the carbonate plant.

It is in PLL's interest to delay as long as possible because once the carbonate plant is up and running, all the spod NAL produces has to go to the carbonate plant. PLL could theoretically get any leftover, every year, but that's unlikely and will probably not be enough.

Unfortunately nobody on the bod has the balls to play hardball with KP.
