Dead right ElectricMike, and in some states it's only going to get worse as we close in on the 2024 presidential election, with candidates doing anything to get the green vote, especially democrats.
The hypocrisy in the USA is legendary, the political spin even more so.
They loudly pronounce to the world that they're leading the Green Revolution (because lets face it, the loud mouth Americans have to lead everything), then they slap a whole bunch of delaying regulations on any environmental based mineral project that would actually produce a Green Revolution (including protection for weeds ... ha ha ...), and then they decide to tax them more as well.
What a bunch of hypocrites, who don't actually appear to have a clue what they are doing.
I'm still here though, ya gotta follow the story of the little yellow weed (LYW) eh, it's so magnificently idiotic that some day a few American clowns will make it into a movie, and you can bet there will be a left-wing university academic as it's heroine. Oh my, ya gotta laugh, ya gotta love this stuff, because you couldn't dream it up. Even though INR is actually saving the little yellow weed (LYW) from extinction.
The planet is dying because it won't have electric vehicles, and when the last human is breathing their final gasp, and the human species is about to become extinct, he will be able to whisper, "at least we saved the little yellow weed (LYW)", while looking out upon a world where the LYW has then become endemic in every corner of the globe and has killed off all other natural vegetation.
Oh man, there has to be a hit science fiction novel in this, surely, something like the immensely funny and brilliant, "Do androids dream of electric sheep" by Philip K. Dick.
When the approvals are granted, in the first quarter of the CY2024, there will be appeals, naturally. All the deluded Greenies looking for a cause to make their lives meaningful will come out in force again, marching across the deserts and down the streets, and promising to give their presidential vote in a block to anyone who will save the LYW. Ironically though, the only one who is saving it is INR.
Those privileged Greenies sitting pretty and high in their plush university offices had 100 years to do something for the LYW, and they did NOTHING. That's because they are not real Greenies, they are really just anti-mining protestors, pure and simple.
Anyway, it's my bet that the appeals will not be completed until AFTER the presidential election, this is the way things work in America, because politicians are too scared to do anything until after they get their vote.
What a crazy world eh?
