One of the many trade methods I've seen as well is to buy a couple of weeks before spud and sell no matter what upon the spud announcement using the announcement as volume and bump up in share price even if it is smallish can be seen as a fairly risk free trade. When that didn't happen some exited and have no doubt they'll be looking at using the same strategy in a few weeks time.
