"Which is frustrating because I have a high level of conviction that the events of the past 12 months, and the indiscriminate selling of micro- and nano caps that has resulted, means that there are sure to be a number of truly great investment opportunities when looking out on a three-year view."

    I agree with conclusion.

My difficulty is so many micro and nano companies are unprofitable. Of those that are profitable, many are fairly valued based on sensible metrics yet, at the same time, under valued relative to their larger peers. Things that should deflate with higher interest rates have remained inflated.

Do the micro and nano caps deliver better operational performance to support a re-rate and/or interest rates (that were ignored on the way up) become a factor on a way down? I'm not sure what's meant to happen.

I still turn over many a micro and nano cap rock, but there haven't been an abundance of opportunities in industries that I can understand.
