Shorting is not illegal, why on earth would they "take action" against a perfectly legal and legitimate trading strategy?? The manipulation bit is rubbish made up by punters who can't accept responsibility for their own decisions and try to cast the blame on something/someone else.
Honestly, stop being so fixated on the share price and focus on the company itself. Share price is irrelevant
