I have heard the best place to look for mineral deposits is to explore where past mining took place a long time ago. Newcrest’s Cadia gold/copper mine is a classic where historical surface mining was carried out and Newcrest using modern exploration tools uncovered one of the largest gold/copper deposits in the world at depth. There are man6 other examples.
I do find it interesting that AZS’s Andover project had past old small scale surface mines extracting minerals from pegmatites and look what a monster deposit they have uncovered when they started drilling.
IR1 was the same but past mining was on a much larger scale than AZS and IR1’s initial drill results look great with maybe better results to come. The number of outcropping pegmatites and surface size of spodumene crystals at IR1’s project are much more impressive than AZS’s are.
History does not repeat but rhymes so let’s hope IR1, with the best tenements, will be a big lithium deposit. Initial results were good and maybe the best is yet to come (as happened for AZS).
