I pointed out some time ago now that the US or Oz Government for that matter could acquire the metalstorm IP in part or whole anytime they felt like it, and as far as the US went, if metalstorm or whomever held the rights to the IP at that time wanted any recompense for it, they would have to take the US Government to court, I was howled down when I said this theft of IP was a distinct possibility, well it seems to me that SOD has cleared that up wonderfully doesn't it?

The US are prepared to build the Coil/Railgun for around $2,000,000,000 and more than likely much more than that, it is faster than mach 5/50 I will give you that, but it required huge amounts of power and weighs in the tons, if they want to use it in tanks for instance, then they basically need two very large tanks, one for the power and the other for the gun, metalstorm mach 5/50 woul fit any ordinary tank and not necessarily a large one either, but it would have a very high velocity projectile, with greatly enhanced KE, it would be better than anything else along the lines of ordinary weaponry used today on tanks by a factor of four, but like I said not quite as fast as the rail gun but a gargantuan amount lighter and/or manouvereable, and they reckon they don't want metalstorm technology? BOLLOCKS!
