Agreed, but what if it were a 50k trade, would you say same?

Assuming a;...

50 000 share trade (from a $10 000 investment at 20 cents per share), at $3 yields $150 000 minus $10 000 investment (disregarding $19.95 brokerage for purchase and $180 sale) and taxed at 45%.

If so, this would incur a $63 000 tax bill (sans any credits for the benefit of this exercise).

I'm not sure of the 45%, which may vary according to an individual's circumstance.

However, assuming the above calculations, the benefit of a 50% discount ($63 000 ÷ 2 = $31 500), seems worth the effort of a couple of months wait, compared to bank interest.

Have no idea if the above is valid, so any more knowledgeable please feel free to set this right.

PS 140 000 x 22.5% yields same result.
