There have been many commentators on this thread predicting the big coming fall. No one has been more guilty than I of standing on the edge of the precipice staring down into the yet to eventuate abyss. What if it doesn't happen ?? Certainly in contrast there seems to be enough evidence fundamentally that we are not at the beginning of a new bull either.

Consider the chart below from the 30s....so far it has pretty much mapped out what has happened to us. After the pyschological damaging years of 1929-1932 I wonder what the punters were thinking in the following years. Were they waiting for a non- happening double dip ?? I went back to check the hotcopper posts from 1933 - 1937 but apparently Hotcopper wasn't around them....which seems really strange as I have reached a point in my life where I can't even remember a time when there was no internet....

.....but I think everything that has been written on this forum in the last 2 years would make an excellent study in social psychology for the people of the 2090s when this event comes around again....However people being people I can just see my great great grandchildren now with an amused smile at our primitive culture and a condescending shake of their heads as they say to themselves "That's all very nice.....but this time it's different"

So people of the 2090s if you stumble upon this humble post then be warned...This time is never different !!
