I invested $10k of my wife's hard earned money to acquire 178,571 shares (@.056).

that $10k would have yielded approx 200,000 shares @.05, so you are correct the $10k would have been better purchasing on market.

BUT

for me, the extra 178,571 options @.118 in 2-3 years time works in my favour. I can purchase or sell in due course.

I was never going to invest more than $10k at this time, so the inclusion of options got me over the line with SPP.
