Yep it will take some sort of pattern breaking news that can sustain anything more than a short-term price rise we have seen historically, like a TO offer as you mentioned.That or some other monumental external influence are the only two things I van see breaking these algo traders.
Anything to create sustained pressure on the buying side, not just a temporary news inflow of demand.
