The reason they love the SI raises so much is it actually protects the Directors against any class actions as well and these usually are dismissed if the raise was done to Insto and SI.
I do recall a whole spate of Class Actions in the mid 2000s against mining companies as SPP and Issue rights were the only real method of raising cash as only few qualified for SI in those days now its something like 3 million households meet the criteria.
