Could also be Min or Gina or another big company who is doing the shorting. As far as I know, it is completely legit.
My own beliefs are that. if anyone is going to make a bid for STX then they are risk-adverse and will wait until, at least the first two wells are drilled early next year. If they were prepared to tolerate risk it seems logical to assume that they would have had the takeover all settled before STX started drilling again at SE.
This does not mean, of course, that they shouldn't be building up a stake now, at the lowest possible price,
We will know in the fullness of time.
