Gap does not have to be filled. If it remains open after three days, it acts as a support. I am relying on Selmax as an authority in these matters. Look at LNC in the past few days, it has bounced from the 1.72 region three times in 3 of the past 7 days. 1.72 is of course the point from which it gapped up on 2/8/2010.

But I think the Dow holds more relevance to the SP than my technical ramblings. Best result would be to see the DOW close the gap from yesterday's close.
