Looks like he's up for CGT and realising A972k would take him into the highest Fed tax bracket of 37% I assume. Not sure about any other local taxes.
Say he is taxed at 37% ... he then gets A612k of the $972k he sold the shares for (av 14.5c). But he has to pay A383k of this to exercise the options - leaving him A229k.
That's USD148k roughly at the current conversion rate (Not including broker fees ... Maybe USD 140k in the hand. So not a biggie really for me.
Please check these calcs ... I think they're right.
If so, Buy the Panic Monday??? - lol ...might just be a double bottom on a strange pattern.
