An astute trader can determine whether fresh volume is accumulating or distributing on smaller time frames, which is a vital indicator when making decisions.
In TOE’s example as it was at end of day and end of month it was more likely to be rebalancing. But if you weren’t aware of the volumes you’d be negligent in your building of knowledge and therefore decision making. IMO.

Anyone discarding volumes is delusional.
