I wanted to put some of these Scotty numbers together to see what the size and potential value of the deposit might look like. My calculations show a possible resource of between 2.8 million tonnes and 5.2 million tonnes of lithium carbonate as per the table below. At a lithium carbonate price of US$20,000 per tonne, the in-ground value at Scotty is between $56 billion and $104 billion. Looking at a production cost of $5,000 per tonne for sedimentary clay deposits (from Lithium Americas DFS) the attraction of this project looks compelling to me.
