The 3D survey should have the capacity to fully image any up-dip thief channels that could potentially breach the trap to the east - see map below. Since the eastern limit of the 3D survey (black line) is about 10kms east of the eastern, up-dip pinch out (blue line) of the super fan, (sorry for all the easts) any thief channels, if present, should be covered by full fold 3D seismic data which will provide high quality image and therefore high-quality interpretation.
