One of the best things an investor can do (IMO) in relation to stocks they hold, is to speak with employees at the 'coal face'. This is exactly what I have done in the last week with City Chic and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that stores in my region have experienced a strong uptick in sales and that demand is steadily rising. Old stock has been cleared and a great new spring range has piqued customer interest.

I would encourage other to do this and report back. Simply go into the store (preferably with a female partner) seek out the manager and casually ask how sales are going etc, tell them you are interested from a shareholder perspective. You will be surprised what you can learn.
