Yeah - if they are heading out to Konik with the air-core rig with more fences of drilling that would ( in my opinion anyway) usually be some extra fences of air-core holes in the same orientation to test along strike and confirm if the fault offset terminates the mineralized zone, although scissor holes with air-core is also a good valid test for orientation of mineralized zones. What I am trying to say is air core is good for shallow testing to confirm strike and dip of mineralization where information is limited, and then later on use RC or diamond core to get more depth and deeper extensions along strike and especially down-dip.

As you say - they have access to all the old drilling data which was sub-optimal in its orientation, but might rule-in or rule-out some of the possible strikes and dips of the mineralisation.

The dispersion of gold into the oxide zones is a good-news/bad-news sort of exploration trade-off. It makes it easier and more likely to find shallow oxide gold with aircore drilling (without having to have ridiculously tight air-core drill spacing) but it does mean that deeper follow-up drilling with RC is required to find the primary gold (which may be narrower than the overlying oxide gold zones).
