Broad generalisations may suit you when they are used to support a particular perspective you hold but are as tedious as you find my attempts at unpicking the generalisation. Why use a generalisation or line of argument if you don’t even believe it? That’s not just illogical but intellectually bereft.

    I’d suggest to you that the use of the term classic pedant is dangerously close to argumentum ad hominem. What’s the point?
