I think ultimately choosing the level of a stop loss is pretty important, although I don't always set a stop loss as soon as I acquire an asset, I trust my intuition in the fact I've entered at a reasonable support level, if my stop loss was triggered below the significant level, It's probably time to move on (my personal trading style, definitely not advice) in the case of LEL, I know it has significant upside potential due to its volatile nature, hence my re-entry at a key support level, which I've set a stop loss bellow.
As I say, this isn't advice or anything close, just an insight into how I trade, others in here would be investors, and this strategy to them would easily run them into the ground as Mika pointed out.
