The chap in the article mentions a Robert Wan auction in Hong Kong which was bought out by a single Chinese buyer pre-auction, and thinks there’s a massive shortage of supply currently. Admittedly ATP is not in the same (high end) segment of the market. Even so, one would hope the company is attracting a lot of new interest from wholesalers, and thus upward pressure on prices. ATP seems to average one auction per quarter. The September auction sold only about one-seventh of annual production. Hopefully that’s because more of its sales are being directed through higher-margin sales channels, as I’ve previously speculated. The interim results in February are going to be very interesting.
