I suspect at this stage in the realisation that something in addition to Lion is needed in quite a few situations that technology, performance and capability comparisons are being done by quite a few organisations.
The California Energy Commission is the first we have been exposed to in that regard, boot strapping businesses to price competitiveness with Lion without the need to have generated significant debt beforehand, as is the model used by at least one in the field. Then there was the DoD and now the DoE.
I'm not certain that the Electric Mine Consortium or Energy Queensland has that perspective, but at least the latter has announced distinct progress in their plans to compare technologies. Redflow was short listed by the Electric Mine Consortium back in April, where it is going from there has not been announced yet.
There is at least one major European renewable energy generator, with global reach, also actively going down that path of comparisons too.
