Short positions in Liontown have soared since September 13 when just 3.94 per cent of the stock was bet on the stock falling.Short positions have risen to almost 8 per cent this week, making Liontown the 11th most shorted stock on the ASX.
Rival lithium producer Pilbara Minerals is the most shorted stock on the ASX, with more than 11 per cent sold short, while Core Lithium and Sayona are also prominent on the most shorted list.
