I was hoping Jewish people worldwide , specifically Israeli's , would understand why this is happening.

Not all Israeli governments have tried to pretend that things could continue as is, but this one has provocation written all over it.

Palestinians are no different to Ukrainians , they want their land back .

A negotiated peace settlement would be an acceptable plan B , but both sides will have to compromise , and in my view, Israel has been more intransigent, as if turned into an art form.
