Hello fellow SSN fans!
Would be interested if anyone has fraccing experience and their opinion of the decision made by SSN.
So far from a Driller's perspective their performance to date has been flawless, it is a shame the liner hanger pre-set but that does happen sometimes.
I have done a few frac jobs in my time but would not claim any expertise in this area.
However I would also guess that there is a good reason why they are doing a staged frac job and over 1000 ft of horizontal strikes me as being a long stage. I have some concern that they won't get the best out of this well as I would think they won't get a very good frac at the toe of the well. However the conter arguement to this is that often horizontals flow best from the heel anyway so diminishing returns from the toe.
The packer would have been a permanent one so difficult to mill and retrive (but not impossible). However specialist tools required that may not have been available on the rig.
Still think SSN is a very, very well run Company but I think long term this decision might not get the most out of this particular well.
good luck to all.
cheers,
Oilman.
