Ord Minett has an investment facility called Short Plus. PNV is on the list of companies 'investors' can short through them. So just like brokers give 'buy' ratings (which they often get wrong), Ord Minett has extra motivation to recommend a 'sell' (ie. not just recommending moving out of a position - but to others who don't even have a position, but want to bet on a fall ). Just a way for the broker to double the customer spend and more profits either way for Ord Minett.
Naturally they lose credibility the more they get wrong. But they, like all brokers, work on 'belief' (ie hope) they will guess more correct than they get wrong.
If they have quite a few of their members going short - I wonder if that might influence their ''recommendation'?
